BLACK WIDOW/ NATASHA ROMANOFF
ANSWERS:
1. Aneta: Mystery, courage, strength. Refusal to see. Her choice. She's happy with it.
2. Mihai: Trying to fade in the background but is unable to do it. Wants to be anonymous but is unable to no matter how hard she tries
3. Mihaela: Mistery, drama. description: a woman being blindfolded in a sexual way (she likes it because of the smirk on her face). In this case, I do not think that a different colour would have changed my perception
4. Miruna: Mistrust. A person who is just pretending not to see or hear or know the truth about what people say about them. A cunning person who knows how to be strong, confident no matter what she hears/ no matter the rumours. I feel like the colours are neutral/balanced. The person isn't affected by either good or evil
5. Madeleine: The colours are monotone and stick to the same shade range, giving a consistent feeling of warmth. The image depicts confidence and assurance. The warm tones bring a strong presence of dependence.
6. Andrada: Depression, loneliness. The person looks lonely and say. They can't (or don't know how to) express their true feelings. The red and the black make me think of loneliness, solitude.
BEHIND THE PAINTING
Red and black - Black Widow's theme colours. I thought the best way to showcase her was through her own colours as they already showcase her personality and her hidden emotions. Different shades of red highlight her power, her rebellious personality. Warm reds, almost close to orange, to signify her more sensual side. The black mixing with darker reds to convey the torment she is going through, the rage she hides. If we consider the idea that you can tell a lot about a person by their eyes, the choice to hide them conveys Natasha's tendency to keep secrets, her life before she became Black Widow still being a mystery. We know her Persona, but we have not understood her true Self yet.
