CAPTAIN MARVEL

ANSWERS:

1. Aneta: Peacefulness. Rebirth. Preparing for something new that is coming along. The spark of mystery

2. Mihai: The clouds look like they are disappearing, like they are making space for the moon. The white and the blue make me think that something good is coming. The red is making me think of something dangerous, but, because it is mostly covered, the picture makes me feel calm. Something like: after every bad thing, a good one is coming.

3. Mihaela:
Emotion: serenity, love, peace
Description: walking on a beach during sunset, when the sun goes down and makes the place look orange-y or red, and the transition from day to night. Blue is a great representative of peace and serenity, and so is the moon. I associate the colour red with love usually but I think that here red means so much more, like the deep, dark, erotic secrets of the moon, or those only a few people know.
Yes, the colours here are very important as well. If they were changed, the whole description I just pictured would change completely.

4. Miruna: Mystery. Something lurking in the shadows. Can't show your full potential because something is stopping you. There is a wall between you and what you want. The red is the potential the person has, the white highlights the ordinary. Having white as the main colour makes me think that the person's potential is being hidden away

5. Madeleine: Reds paired with cool tones make the painting stand out. It reminds me of something ominous, the sphere being the focal point of the work. It contrasts sharply with the bold red, which ultimately draws attention to the colour. Anxiety, and an impending feeling of unknown and uneasiness.

6. Andrada: The feeling of new, of discovery. It looks like I'm seeing the universe and this is a newly discovered planet. The white makes me think of something new and fresh, the clouds are parting and the new discovery is being shown. The red makes me think of something unexpected,  unconventional, out of the ordinary.

BEHIND THE PAINTING

I decided to go back to a more abstract style for Captain Marvel.  The red that shows even through the clouds signifies her incredible power, her passion and her courage. I used two shades of blue. True blue (the lighter shade) to show that she is loyal and dependable. Royal blue (the darker shade) to emphasize her power. The white to suggest her purity and her goodness. Captain Marvel is said to be the most powerful out of all the Marvel superheroes, therefore I tried to strongly emphasize that throughout the drawing. The white that covers most of the painting also suggests how close she is to perfection, to absolutism.
